PGT Innovations Observes International Women’s Day with Leading Ladies

March 10, 2020

Each year, International Women’s Day celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.

At PGT Innovations, producing a platform for women is a passion. The company creates a culture of gender diversity and a legacy that inspires women to become excellent leaders.

For example, its Leading Ladies initiative supports more female leadership within the company. Jeff Jackson, PGT Innovations CEO and President, is particularly passionate about the Leading Ladies project – not only because it strengthens the company, but also because he wants his three daughters to have opportunities in business as they look forward to starting their careers.

The Leading Ladies project aims to provide meaningful career opportunities to women executives in the manufacturing business – a predominantly male-dominated industry.

Sherri Baker, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at PGT Innovations, and Debbie LaPinska, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at PGT Innovations, are among those leading ladies.

Last year, Sherri was profiled in Sarasota Magazine. She became the first in her family to graduate college, advanced through the ranks of corporate accounting and finance, and founded and led corporate networks that supported women and provided mentorship for career advancement.

Debbie joined PGT Innovations in 1991 as a customer service representative. Her passion for serving the company’s customers and supporting its team members allowed her to rise through multiple departments and positions to her current role. She now manages the company’s six locations and around 2,900 team members. Her expertise was recently outlined in HR Magazine.

PGT Innovations doesn’t only employ strong women leaders, but several also serve on the company’s board of directors.

Recently, Sheree Bargabos and Frances Powell Hawes, two board members of PGT Innovations, were recognized and included in the 2019 Most Influential Corporate Board Directors by WomenInc., a leading magazine dedicated to comprehensive coverage of women’s achievement in business. The publication’s winter edition features a directory of more than 700 directors serving on the boards of S&P 1000/Mid-Cap publicly held companies and is the most comprehensive listing of women executives, influencers and achievers contributing leadership to corporate boards.

“We are extremely lucky to have so many wonderful women on our team,” says Jeff. “Each one of them are valuable key members of our company and provide their talents, experience and insight to PGT Innovations.”

Please join us in celebrating and honoring women around the world.
