The Florida Home Hardening Tax Exemption eliminates sales tax on impact windows, doors, and garage doors, so you can have the home performance and peace of mind you want — for less than you’d expect. You may also qualify for the My Safe Florida Home grant (see below) and insurance discounts.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE
FLORIDA HOME HARDENING TAX
EXEMPTION
- Purchases of impact windows, doors, and garage doors between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2024, qualify for Florida sales tax exemption.*
- Products must be labeled as “impact” or have an impact rating.
- The state of Florida will not collect sales tax on the purchases of impact windows, doors, and garage doors.
- Installing impact products may also qualify you for a homeowners’ insurance discount. Contact your provider to learn more.
*Please note that your dealer must place your order by June 30, 2024 for your products to be eligible for Florida’s sales tax holiday. We recommend working with your dealer to finalize and submit your order on or before June 28, 2024, to avoid any delays in the order being processed.
